About Us

Our Mission

The primary mission of our project is to digitize and popularize Polish theater music from the 20th century. The works of many outstanding composers are stored in the archives of Polish theaters, preserved only on magnetic tapes – we are changing that. We do not want these compositions, numbering in the tens of thousands, to be forgotten and simply cease to exist.

In parallel with our focus on the past, we promote emerging artists, continually expanding our community of young composers. It is important to us to give them the opportunity to express themselves, showcase their ideas, and share their artistic vision with a broad audience.

Who Are We?

We are a rapidly growing, multi-generational team of about a dozen people with diverse temperaments and passions. Among us, you'll find students, graduates, and PhDs; a pilot, a philosopher, an architect, a Finnish language translator, and a horse whisperer; professional musicians with years of experience and devoted enthusiasts.

Thanks to the differences among us, we constantly have the opportunity to view our ideas from various perspectives and learn from each other – not just in terms of work.

A Brief History

Janusz Stokłosa – the visionary behind Music Granar – is a composer, conductor, pianist, and publisher who began his professional career in 1976. This extensive experience gave birth to the idea of preserving music composed specifically for theatrical performances, and its result is a music database and hundreds of digitized magnetic tapes.

Despite the many modifications we’ve undergone since the project’s inception in 2022, one thing remains unchanged: we want to provide artists with access to the highest quality musical material created by professionals.

Art Engineering Project

We warmly invite young artists to participate in an educational project organized by Stokłosa Editions Music and Sheet Music Publishing! We offer free mentorships, workshops, lectures, and a residency at Studio Burdąg.
