Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz, composer and pianist, who gained recognition for his work in theatre and film music. He was the co-founder of the group Anawa, a cabaret and then a music band in which, together with Marek Grechuta, he created music that combined poetry with unique sounds. His compositions are often characterised by emotional depth and baroque sound, which contributed to the emergence of a new trend in Polish popular music. His work has been recognised at many festivals and performed both in Poland and abroad. For his artistic achievements and influence on culture, he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and the silver and gold medal ‘Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis’. Born: 1942
