Heinrich Frauenlob
Born between 1250 and 1260 in Meissen, died November 29, 1318 in Mainz
Also known as: Henry of Meissen (Heinrich von Meißen)
A German minnesinger, itinerant poet, and singer. He settled in Mainz in 1312. He composed love songs, maxims, and hymns, including hymns of praise to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This likely gave rise to his nickname "Frauenlob" (praiser of women).
We are in the process of adding the composer's works to the library.
