
Alberto Nepomuceno
Born July 6, 1864, in Fortaleza, died October 16, 1920, in Rio de Janeiro
Brazilian composer and conductor. His work was inspired by the melodies of Brazilian folklore. He used lyrics by native poets in his songs, contributing to the revival of Portuguese songs. Director of the Instituto Nacional de Música and the Sociedade de Concertos Populares.
