Jan Kasprzyk

He studied guitar at the Conservatoire International de Musique in Paris with Professor Moretti, graduating with a medal. He studied music composition at the Ecole Normale de Musique in the class of Jacques Casterède and jazz at the American School of Modern Music in Paris. He has accompanied lyrical artists in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Since graduating, he has composed two concertos for guitar and orchestra and over 1,000 pieces for solo guitar. In 1992, he wrote "Bullfight" in three movements for three guitars, two trumpets, bass clarinet, and double bass. He composed the suite "Cirque" for flute and guitar, and numerous other chamber works. As a soloist, he performs his own works and those of early and contemporary composers. In 1993, he performed at the Théâtre de la Voix in Paris in a production of Spanish music, "Nights of the Alhambra." In 1997, he returned to Warsaw, where he teaches classical guitar at the Zacisze Cultural Center. In 2005, he founded the guitar ensemble "Gitarerra." In October 2008, the Pani Twardowska publishing house published his 24 Miniatures for solo guitar. That same year, he recorded the album "Spotkanie z Gitarą" (Meeting with the Guitar) with the ensemble "Gitarerra." By 2026, he had recorded 44 CDs featuring his own compositions and those of leading composers.
